Kudumbasree

K udumbashree, the state poverty Eradication mission is launched by Govt.of Kerala with the active support of govt. of India & NABARD for Wiping out absolute poverty from the state with in a period of 10yrs.This project is implemented by the state poverty Eradication mission of the Govt.of kerala through local self government formed and empowered by the 73rd & 74th constitutional amendments. The mission follows a process approach rather than a project approach.
 
Kudumbashree Structure

In 'Kudumba Shree' the cutting edge level is decided as neighborhood groups which consists of 20-40(urban)/15-40(rural) women members belongings to BPL families. At the Corporation Municipality division/Grama/Panchayat ward level Area Development Societies (ADS) were constituted to co-ordinate the activities of NHGS coming under that area and Community Development societies (CDS) were formed as an apex body of ADS at Corporation Municipality division/ Grama / Panchayat ward level. CDS is a registered body under the charitable societies Act. The Chairperson of the CDS is elected from among the representation of ADS and the secretary of the CDS will be a government official nominated by the local self govt. concerned.

IT @ school project

IT fields is one of the areas identified by Kudumbashree for promoting self-ventures of education unemployed women. During the last 3 years Kudumbashree Has facilitated to organize 60 computer data processing units in 50 local bodies in 14 districts and all the units are working well.

At district level district collector shall be the Chief Executive Officer of the Kudumbashree Mission; there shall be a District Mission Coordinators and two Assistant District Mission Coordinators to assist Chief Executive Officer. The Kudumbashree District Office at Kollam started functioning from 15th May at District Panchayat Office, Thevally as space was not available in civil station.
